WHAT IS TRADING?

In trading, you simply trade the equity in your current property for the one you desire.   

Say you have a property worth $100,000 with $20,000 in equity and your desired property is worth $120,000.  If a 2-way match can be found, the $20,000 equity in your current property would act as a down payment on the desired $120,000 property so you would need to qualify for a loan of $100,000, or provide other cash or non-cash assets acceptible to the seller, to make the deal work.

If the seller of the desired property wanted your current $100,000 property, he would buy your property and you'd have another $80,000 in cash, or assets agreeable to you, to work with.  Sometimes, a 3-way deal is the way to make things work for everyone.

In trade deals, brokers are often willing to take all or part of their commissions in non-cash assets as well.

This form of doing business is not really new.  In fact, trading is the oldest economy known to man.  It can be creative, accomplish your goals and it can be a lot of fun.
